DO NOT turn up without an environmental mat for refuelling and working on bike.  An old tea towel is not sufficient and one between three is also no good. Annual Dinner Dance- Jan 2020

A big thank you to all of you that attended our annual dinner and dance on 24th January.  We were at a new venue for us, Alexandra House near Wroughton  .Although we were down on the number of attendees this year, because the room was smaller it made for a nice atmosphere.  The food was excellent and all who attended had a great evening.

We had five auction prizes and a raffle which raised nearly £1700 for our two charities, Cancer Research UK and Retina UK.  Most of you will be familiar with Cancer Research UK but few of you would of heard of Retina UK.  This is a relatively small charity helping people with hereditary sight loss. The charity kindly gave us some special glasses so that people could try them on and get an idea of what it was like to live with the condition. People with the condition lose their peripheral vision, so the glasses had two pin prick size holes so that you could only see what was in front of you.

A big thank you to everyone that put their hands in their pockets to raise the amount we did on the night and I’m pleased to announce that the club is rounding it up so that each charity gets £1000.  A special thank you to our farmers from Hannington, Hardy and Shelley for kindly donating two of the auction prizes ( a ride/drive in a tractor and a ride in the combine harvester ) and to their son in law Chris who donated a weekend in France for four people.

It was great to see everyone in their black tie and posh frocks and look forward to see you all dressed up again next year.
